Prresentation av Audur Sif Sigurgeirsdóttir

My family and I got our first dog in 1988 when I was 5 years old, a black Labrador Retriever bithch and with her all the dog world crazyness started slowly – but surely. Soon after we got another Lab-girl who was a true showdog and one of the first international champions here in Iceland. With her the showdog hobby really started and from then on there was no turning back!

My parents started breeding Labradors in 1992 under the prefix Tribáar Tinda and in 1995 they started breeding Tibetan Spaniels as well. I joined as a co-breeder some years ago and today we only breed Tibbies. I can proudly say that Tibáar Tinda has been the Breeder of the Year (all breeds) in Iceland three times, in 2019, 2022 and 2023. We have also been among the top three placements several times. Today I have one Tibbie girl and three German Shepherd boys in my home.

I had some great years as a junior handler and represented Iceland at Crufts three years in a row. Encouraging the young dog enthusiasts in Iceland has always been a big passion of mine. I was one of the founders of the Icelandic Kennel Club´s Youth Organization and was its chariman for many years. I was the Icelandic junior handling team´s coach for 11 years and absolutely loved it.

I have always been very interested in lerning about anatomy and movements in dogs and decided early on that I wanted to become a judge. So I went to as many lectures and courses as I could from early age. In 2016 I got my judging license from FCI and I have been so lucky to be invited to judge in several countries since then, for example Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Ireland and Iceland.

I am counting down the days until end of July and I can’t thank Svenska Miniature American Shepherdklubben enough for inviting me and trusting me for this important task! I feel very honoured and lucky and I promise to do my very best!

I am looking forward to meeting you all and enjoy a great day with you and your wonderful dogs!
